Creating a new Healthcare Connectivity

healthcare1 150x150 Creating a new Healthcare ConnectivityThe changing healthcare landscape is often daunting for providers, payers, and physicians as each group must adapt to evolving IT standards and new government regulations.  To facilitate the electronic exchange of information and reduce errors in patient information there are now mandates for organizations to achieve certain levels of connectivity.  For many, this means improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of online health records, including establishing privacy and security protections for personal health information.  New directives also require upgrading care coordination, including engaging patients and families in their healthcare decisions.

Economic Recovery 150x150 M Squared Survey Sees Economic TurnaroundThe latest M Squared website pulse survey sheds some decidedly positive economic news as 63 percent of respondents report they are seeing an economic recovery and things are getting better.  Only 15 percent of respondents believe they have yet to see economic improvement, and the remainder of survey respondents are unsure.

The Growth of the Contingent Workforce

The just-closed M Squared website pulse survey reveals that 90% of respondents believe that the contingent workforce will continue to grow.  Although not a scientific poll, it gives a

The Rising Risk of Misclassification

Worker classification is important, affecting how individuals pay federal income tax, social security and Medicare taxes, and file tax returns.  Classification also affects eligibility for employer and social security and Medicare benefits.

One of the risks getting increased attention from governmental agencies is misclassification. A business that classifies an employee as an independent contractor and fails to meet all the regulatory requirements for that classification may find itself the subject of a Sarbannes-Oxley violation, a government audit, or even a class action lawsuit.
